Christian Addiction Help Pasco County PDF Print E-mail

Good Monday to all of you and thank you for taking time to read my Christian Addiction Help Pasco County blog.  Pasco County we have a topic that most parents are not aware of; it is concered with inhalant abuse, which last week was National Inhalants and Poisons Awareness Week.  We must remember that we should not only be aware of inhalant abuse one week out of the year, but we should always educate our youth on inhalants but every drug and how they affect the body.

Inhalant abuse is done through ordinary items in our homes.  The article mentions there are 1,400 different items that can be "huffed."  Research shows that children start using inhalants as young as 6th grade and 8% of 6th graders in Maine actually reported using inhalants in their life.  This is a trend that is increasing and it is hard for parents to detect these signs becuase you see something different but do not know where it is from.  That is why education is vital to understand this type of drug use.

The article goes on to say that a change in attitudes and interests as well as decline in school performance, disorented or dazed appearance, slurred speach, and chemical odors on their clothes, breath, or backpack are signs to inhalant abuse.

Parents you can learn more about inhalant abuse at inhalantabusetraining.org.

Now make sure that if you or someone in your family is already experiencing either an inhalant abuse problem or any other type of drug or alcohol addiction, make sure to call for help.  Don't wait until it's too late!  Even if it is to receive information about addiction, make that call and seek help.  Have a great day and thank you for taking time to read my Christian Addiction Help Pasco County blog.  Do not take this situation lightly and let's start educating our youth.
