Christian Addiction Help - FDA Denies New Prescription Drug
Could our government actually be seeing the truth to the many prescription painkillers available on our market? I hope so as The Knoxville News reported the FDA has denied a new prescription painkiller, Acurox. The drug company says that Acurox is designed to deter common methods of misuse and disuse, but then the article mentions this painkiller includes Oxycodone, one of the most abused prescription drugs in the U.S.
The Drug Free Alliance says that between 2002 & 2004 there was an increase to 10.1% of Oxycodone abuse amongst 18-25 year olds. Again, why are individuals still trying to help people overcome an addiction with the use of another drug, especially with Oxycodone a highly addictive drug? This makes no sense to me and hats off to the FDA for stopping the drug company to not release another addictive prescription painkiller.
