Good day everyone!  I found an interesting article from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and the topic is a community drug test.  Did any of us ever think that a community water sample could indicate drug use?  That is exactly what researchers are doing by studying community sewage.

The article says that researchers conducted a one-day sampling at 96 sewage treatment plants and 40% of ecstasy, 80%

Could our government actually be seeing the truth to the many prescription painkillers available on our market?  I hope so as The Knoxville News reported the FDA has denied a new prescription painkiller, Acurox.  The drug company says that Acurox is designed to deter common methods of misuse and disuse, but then the article mentions this painkiller includes Oxycodone, one of the most abused

This is what a lot of professionals do, they prescribe other drugs to treat a drug problem.  This is not effective rehabilitation.  Let's take methadone as an example...many are prescribed this drug

A report in the December issue of Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine reports that abuse of dextromethorphan, a drug commonly found in cold medicine, increased 10-fold from 1999 to 2004.
"Since the late 1990's, dextromethorphan abuse has increased among adolescents, in part because the drug is easily accessible and is perceived to be safe."

The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University (CASA) promotes a "Family Day" every year. The purpose of Family Day is to encourage families to eat dinner together.

"Research by [CASA] consistently finds that the more often children eat dinner together with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink, or use drugs."

Family Day was first created in 2001 and

Parents of toddlers lock up medicines so their children do not have access to dangerous drugs. Now experts are advising parents of teens to do the same thing.

A new study from the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse found that teens say it is easier to obtain prescription drugs than cigarettes, beer, or marijuana. One-third of the teens in the study who abuse such drugs obtain them

Happy Easter everyone and thank you for stopping by to read my Christian Addiction Help Pasco County blog.  Today, I am a little upset and the reason why I'm upset is because we as Americans need to refocus on the real why our society is doing so poor.  The unemployment rate is almost 10% nation wide, people cannot pay their bills, and all kinds of events are happening.  I see all of the stories

Danny was in eighth grade when he first got hooked on drugs. He started with the Ritalin that had been prescribed him for ADHD by crushing and snorting it. Then he started stealing other medications from his mother.
"By the time Danny was a sophomore in high school, he was using cocaine and crystal meth. One morning when he was 19, he woke up vomiting and hung over as usual. 'I just broke,' he

Good morning and thank you for taking time to read another entry of my Christian Addiction Help Pasco County blog.  Today's topic is a news story that says once a fading away 1990s designer drug is making a comeback.  There were two arrests within this week in the Twin Cities with the sales of ecstasy to undercover agents.  Ecstasy, or MDMA, has been used by 1% of people at MSU within the
